Test: Emotional Sensitivity and Vulnerability to Hurt

Do you sometimes ask yourself: "Do I take criticism too much to heart?", "Do I react over-sensitively to other people's remarks?" or "Why do some comments hit me so hard?" These questions are common signs that you'd like to look more closely at your emotional sensitivity.

Typical signs of heightened sensitivity to being hurt can include:

  • intense emotional reactions to criticism or negative remarks,
  • prolonged rumination over past situations or comments,
  • difficulty forgetting or letting go of hurtful statements,
  • a tendency to interpret neutral statements as a personal attack.

With this test you can assess how you handle being hurt and whether your emotional reactions may be more intense than other people's. The test considers different aspects of emotional processing and helps you better understand your reaction patterns.
