Anger Test Online

Do I get worked up too easily? The anger test, designed by a psychologist, helps you take a closer look.

This test supports you in finding out whether you have already developed effective ways to handle frustration and anger — or whether it might make sense to seek support for managing anger.

  • Why do I react so strongly to situations that others find harmless?
  • Why do I find it so hard to control my anger?
  • Why do I feel constantly irritated and frustrated?
  • Why do I hurt the people closest to me when I'm angry?
  • Why can't I just let go and move on after an outburst?

Please note that this test is not a substitute for professional diagnosis. If you have health concerns or find the results worrying, please consult a specialist or psychotherapist.

Anger Test Test: 11 Questions

All questions refer to the last 14 days. The answer options are scaled like a grading system — the first option counts as one point, the last as five. Choose one answer per question and click Evaluate Now at the end.

1. Do you sometimes feel so overwhelmed by your anger that you feel you are losing control?

2. Do you have difficulty regulating your anger in stressful situations?

3. Are there people or situations that particularly quickly trigger anger in you?

4. Do you often find yourself in conflicts in which your anger plays a central role?

5. Do you sometimes express your anger spontaneously, without thinking about the possible consequences?

6. Do you have the feeling that anger often builds up in you because you can't voice it?

7. Do you tend to deliberately escalate conflicts in order to discharge your emotions?

8. Do you sometimes react impulsively and intensely when you are upset?

9. Do you find it difficult to calm down again after an outburst?

10. Do you find it difficult to express anger in a constructive way, without suppressing it or letting it explode?

11. Do you have the impression that your anger has long-term negative effects on your relationships or your wellbeing?

This online screening is not a diagnostic tool. Only a trained medical professional — such as a doctor, psychiatrist or psychotherapist — can advise you on the next steps.
