A warm welcome!

My name is Patric Pförtner,

A short video greeting from your psychologist and couples therapist Patric Pförtner. Consider this a personal invitation to get to know me.

M.Sc. Psychologist Patric Pförtner

Hi, I'm Patric.

I'm an M.Sc. psychologist and doctoral researcher in cognitive psychology — and the author of the self-tests on this page. Each test has been carefully developed by me so that you receive a first, well-grounded self-assessment.

I accompany individuals and couples who have reached a point in life where things can no longer move forward on their own — and who are ready to change something, together.

Previously I counselled high-conflict parents at Caritas and supported pupils, parents and teachers in crisis situations at three schools in Heilbronn. Today I live with my family as an expat in Bulgaria — which is why I have a special place in my heart for people living abroad, travelling a lot for work, or unable to find suitable counselling in their region.

What inspires me are real transformations — toward more clarity, self-understanding and inner calm. Without years of therapy marathons.

"I would give Patric a whole sky full of stars for his professional, human and authentic way of being. Chapeau! Our conversations went deep, full of opportunities to reflect, grow and develop. With all my heart I can recommend Patric as a 5-star psychologist who masterfully practises the art of psychological counselling — with great joy, a pinch of humour and plenty of lightness. Thank you, Patric!"

Psychological online tests — the essentials at a glance

How reliable are psychological online tests?

Psychological online tests — like the 69 self-tests on this page — are not clinical diagnostic instruments, but structured self-assessments. They help you recognise symptoms such as burnout, anxiety disorders, depression or relationship issues in yourself — well-grounded, because every test was developed by M.Sc. psychologist Patric Pförtner, but not conclusive.

Only a doctor, psychiatrist or psychotherapist can make an official diagnosis. The value of these tests lies in self-reflection: they give language to what you feel, and show you whether a next step makes sense.

Which self-test fits my situation?

It depends on what is on your mind right now. If you feel physical exhaustion and pressure at work, the burnout test, the stress test or the workaholic test are a good starting point.

For racing worries or physical tension, the tests on anxiety disorders, panic attacks or social anxiety help. If things are difficult in your relationship, check in with the relationship test or the partnership test.

Just use the search and filter above to find the right test quickly.

What should I do after the test?

A high score is not a diagnosis, but a serious hint that you should seek support. Speak with your GP, a psychiatrist or a psychotherapist — or book a free first consultation with Patric Pförtner, M.Sc. psychologist.

In 20 minutes we'll clarify whether online psychological counselling is the right next step for you. Feel free to repeat the test after a few weeks: on stressful days or in life crises the results turn out differently — that is normal and can itself be an important hint.

Are the self-tests really anonymous and free?

Yes. All 69 psychological online tests on this page are completely free and fully anonymous. You don't need to register or provide an email address — you answer the questions, click "Evaluate Now", and see your result immediately.

No personal data is stored and no result is passed on. That matters to me: you should feel free to answer honestly — only then does a test yield a meaningful self-assessment.

When should I take a psychological self-test?

Whenever you feel that something "isn't right" but can't yet put it into words. Poor sleep, constant tension, conflict in your relationship, lack of drive or feeling burned out at work — a self-test can help you make sense of that diffuse unease.

It's also worth repeating a test at regular intervals, say every three to six months. That way you spot changes early and can take targeted action before a mild level of stress becomes real burnout.
